Carefree Park is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission of acquiring, preserving and making accessible to the community the last remaining 48 acres of Sonoran Desert in Carefree. Our supporters are volunteers who love the natural look and feel of the Sonoran Desert in our area, and who are firmly committed to preserving it.

Aquire
Our primary objective is to acquire this land before it is developed. Carefree Park will cultivate public and private partnerships, conduct fundraising activities, and accept donations from individuals, corporations and foundation grants.

Preserve
Carefree Park’s strongest commitment is toward preservation of this land, which is home to hundreds of ancient saguaros, natural Sonoran Desert vegetation, and is a thriving wildlife habitat and wildlife corridor which must be preserved.

Make Accessible
With minimal impact to the landscape, low impact hiking trails will be created. A restroom facility, parking, picnic ramada and bike rack will be added, making the park accessible to our community and visitors to enjoy in harmony with the land’s natural inhabitants.
